Ask an adviser to serve as High School Insider’s point of contact with your school or educational program. The best HS Insider adviser is typically a school teacher or a program manager at an education organization that wants to support young people in sharing their stories with the world.

Get your advisers’ name and email address and submit them with your permission slip in Step 2.

Submit a permission slip so the HSI team can create your WordPress account.

• Online permission slips for students under 18 can be completed here or over 18 here.
• Paper permission slips for students under 18  [English / Spanish] or over 18 [English / Spanish]. Students can take a picture and email it to isabella.balandran@latimes.com.

Please note that your permission slip will be processed in 3-4 weeks. There is currently a longer wait time to join HS Insider which will become quicker in the near future. If you have a timely story you would like to submit, please reach out to isabella.balandran@latimes.com and request to expedite your onboarding process.

Within 5-7 business days, your permission slip will be processed and a member of Team High School Insider will send you an invitation to create your HSI account and this How-To Guide for submitting your first story.
